Old Block Print Digitally Recreated

I thought I’d share a digital recreation of an old wooden block print I used to to make business stationary. It originally took a couple of days to design and carve the wood blocks. One was the chains the other was the bats. I would use red and black acrylic paints on paper cut down to 8.5″ x 5.5″. A regular piece of copy paper split in half would make 2 pages of stationary.

In less than 3 hours I was able to recreate it digitally. The only things missing are the striations from the wood blocks and the occasional blending of the colors due to rushing the printings.
