New Things for the New Year: Part 2

Img 4709

I mentioned before that I have some new things planned for this year.

The first new thing is a plan to create coloring pages of the original released art!

The original line drawings will be converted to ink line drawings. The scenery and creatures / monsters will be simplified to make them more appropriate for coloring pages. The pages will be made available for digital download by purchase through my store here on my site!

Next is new watercolor art of all of the released art!

It starts with the ink drawings from the coloring pages! Using watercolors, the images will be brought to life!

Follow that with stickers!

The creature / monster watercolor art will be converted to stickers! This means the scenery will be removed giving the creatures / monsters a chance to really shine. There will be two sizes to choose from! Sets of three will be available for purchase through my store, as well!

How do you feel about stuffed toys?

Grotesque Moi!’s released creatures / monsters are on their way to become a bigger part (ok, a little bigger part) of our world! I’m working on the basic form designs to turn the released creatures / monsters into really great stuffed toys! You will be able to carry your favorite creatures anywhere with you! There will be one size for most of my creations available for purchase in my store, too!

The Grotesque Moi! illustrations will continue!

More Grotesque Moi! illustrations are on the way! The first one is close to being finished! there is also two more ready to start!

Show!

The show season is well underway! We have applications out to some of the bigger ones and waiting to see if we get in to them! Meanwhile, we are lining up events, markets and shows! Keep an eye out for where we’ll be next!

Dragon Con 2017

Dragon Con was as huge and great as ever this year! My daughter and I have been attending for about six years now. We were able to go late on Friday and caught a panel after getting our badges. Then to a photo shoot.

On Saturday we missed the entire parade, this time. Well except for the last ambulance. This was due to getting a late start and arriving after the streets were blocked off for the parade. Usually we get there an hour to an hour and a half before so that we can get into our favorite parking lot and get breakfast.

We did keep things simpler this time. We did the one panel, a couple of photo shoots, visiting and supporting artists at the Art Show, Artist Alley and the Vendor Halls. On Sunday we had breakfast at Metro Cafe Diner our go to place every year.

Over all things seemed easier to find and access for the most part. The only major setback was the traffic into and throughout the vendor halls. This was due to the expansion of vendors into the same footprint as last year and the increase of attendees over last year. The volunteers did a good job reacting to the traffic outside the vendor halls coming into the building.

MomoCon 2017

Last day for MomoCon. It’s been a great con. Were getting some autographs and checking out the Artists’ Alley. Teh rest of the day will be just casually enjoying the con.

*****************************************

This weekend has been busy! There’s still one more day left for MomoCon 2017 but I thought that I would share some shots, so far:

My daughter and I have attended for the last few years. My artistic drive has carried over to her. I am both directly and indirectly responsible for awakening her creative spirit. Here she is playing Yoosang from Mystic Messenger, a phone game.FB_IMG_1495823371134.jpg

She loves to cosplay. Sh usually dresses up at school so much that most people don’t really react to her inventions. Mostly she cosplays characters from her favorite books, shows and games.

These to images are from the modern version of Voltron. Pidge is the character she is playing.20170527_122230.jpg
