For this update I wanted to let you guys know that I finally have both prints of the first two images for Grotesque Moi! up on the store here! Creature #3 is in process and I should have something to post on it soon. Also, please support this project on Patreon at www.patreon.com/xtillos so that I can continue to create content for this project outside of any commissions.
I have the latest illustration completed and authorization to post it here for you to see! Below I present to you “Puddle Sprite E”. This is an example of a tier 1 illustration.the owner is very happy with the results!
Below shows a sample of the photo reference along with the illustration.
Hi, everyone!I wanted to give you an update on Grotesque Moi!. Also, please check below the image for some questions I have for you. I’m working to get the final touches completed on the second illustration. I will publish it as soon as I have approval from the commissioner. I’ve set the feature image as the sneak peeks that I posted previously. I’ve found that the image is not being displayed in social media when I put the project banner as the feature image. I want that image to show before the Grotesque Moi! banner for you guys so that you can see how things are going.
The questions I have for you are related to Patreon. I’m relaunching under the Grotesque Moi! campaign. First, would you be interested in supporting me there? The plan is to only have a couple of tiers for support one for US$5.00 and another US $20.00. At the first tier would the reward of a digital download of 2 digital/pencil line drawings that you can develop however you want or a process video for one of the completed images? At the second tier, how does both the first tire options plus a digital copy of the previous months final image for you to make your own print sound?
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you’re enjoying your holidays! Hopefully you have plans for something great this year!
I’ve got a new project that will need your help! More about how that will work in the upcoming posts! I hope to roll parts of it out in stages this year. I’ve been sneaking out images of the plan, recently. It’s focused around the fantasy self-portraits I posted before and some creature drawings. Like this Lupine-Naga:
For now, here’s to many great things for you in this New Year!
Dragon Con was as huge and great as ever this year! My daughter and I have been attending for about six years now. We were able to go late on Friday and caught a panel after getting our badges. Then to a photo shoot.
On Saturday we missed the entire parade, this time. Well except for the last ambulance. This was due to getting a late start and arriving after the streets were blocked off for the parade. Usually we get there an hour to an hour and a half before so that we can get into our favorite parking lot and get breakfast.
We did keep things simpler this time. We did the one panel, a couple of photo shoots, visiting and supporting artists at the Art Show, Artist Alley and the Vendor Halls. On Sunday we had breakfast at Metro Cafe Diner our go to place every year.
Over all things seemed easier to find and access for the most part. The only major setback was the traffic into and throughout the vendor halls. This was due to the expansion of vendors into the same footprint as last year and the increase of attendees over last year. The volunteers did a good job reacting to the traffic outside the vendor halls coming into the building.
Last day for MomoCon. It’s been a great con. Were getting some autographs and checking out the Artists’ Alley. Teh rest of the day will be just casually enjoying the con.
This weekend has been busy! There’s still one more day left for MomoCon 2017 but I thought that I would share some shots, so far:
My daughter and I have attended for the last few years. My artistic drive has carried over to her. I am both directly and indirectly responsible for awakening her creative spirit. Here she is playing Yoosang from Mystic Messenger, a phone game.
She loves to cosplay. Sh usually dresses up at school so much that most people don’t really react to her inventions. Mostly she cosplays characters from her favorite books, shows and games.
These to images are from the modern version of Voltron. Pidge is the character she is playing.
I thought that I would share an update on “Relative Perspective” with you. I’m working digitally to develop this into a color piece. I’m also working out some points of development in my techniques. I plan to improve on my color intensity, dramatic lighting and rendering skills. Enjoy and feedback is welcome.

I’m in the process of setting up here om Word Press but I wanted to give some basic information so that you know what I’m about.
I’m a freelance illustrator of Fantasy Art. I work in traditional media and lately have been building my digital skills. I’m currently using Manga Studio and a Wacom tablet. Both are great to work with.
My plan is to share my work and style here with you. As I get things rolling, I will post more of my work. I will also share my steps that I took to arrive at the final images and my techniques. I will also drop in some videos here and there.
I will also be setting up to sell prints, originals and fantasy portraits by commission.
If you like what you see, please let me know. I will also be setting up an email mailing list as I get thins going.
Thank you for your interest and support.
